The winners will be the first team to successfully complete the entire Lord Recluse Strike Force on the Test Server and complete the entry process which allows us to verify completion of the Strike Force.

This Challenge is not for the weak – in fact, we expect no team will even be able to complete the Lord Recluse Strike Force before the deadline. How sure are we? We are so sure that if you are a member of the first team to complete the Strike Force before the deadline we will give you a one year paid subscription to City of Villains. That’s right – each person on the winning team will get a full-year paid subscription to the most fiendish MMO on the planet.

Ready to Rumble? The contest begins at 11:59 PM (Central) Friday, May 26th 2006 and ends 12:01 am (Central) Tuesday, May 30th 2006. Entry details can be found in the Official Rules and Conditions below. Winners will be announced no later than Monday, June 5th, at 3:00 PM Central.

You must be 13 years of age or older to participate and a legal resident of the United States (excluding the State of Rhode Island, and excluding Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. territories, military installations and commonwealths) or Canada (excluding Quebec) as of May 26th, 2006 to participate in this contest.

By entering this contest, you agree to all of the terms and conditions in the City of Villains Recluses’ Strike Force Challenge Contest Official Rules and Conditions (below), so please make sure you read them carefully.

City of Villains Recluses’ Strike Force Challenge Contest Official Rules and Conditions

1. ENTRY

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

To enter, contestants must be a participant of a City of Villains(TM) Lord Recluse(TM) Strike Force team consisting of no more than 8 characters. The Lord Recluse Strike Force is only available to City of Villains(TM) customers level 45 and higher on the Training Room (Test) Server. The Contest begins on Friday, May 26th, at 11:59 PM (Central). To win the contest your Strike force team must be the first to complete the entire Lord Recluse Strike Force Mission Arc AND submit an email notification of completion as outlined below for validation of first completion of the Strike force. Only one team can be the first to complete the entire Lord Recluseïƒ¤ Strike Force.
Once your Team has completed the Strike force you must send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it with ALL of the following: (Only one entry per team please)

1.) Your Full Name
2.) Character names of all characters on your Strike Force at Completion of the Strike Force (this information WILL be verified – any false information may disqualify your entry)
3.) Your PlayNC Account Name
4.) Date of Birth of each member of your Strike Force team
5.) Your FULL mailing address (street, city, state, and country of residence) of each member of your Strike Force team
6.) A contact phone number (This will not be shared with any third parties but may be used to contact you about any issues related to this contest)
7.) Date and time your Team completed the Strike Force (please use Central Time).

If the above email is not submitted by the closing date of 12:01 PM (central) Tuesday, May 30th your entry is considered incomplete and you are disqualified from winning. Limit: one entry per person.

Use of a false name, username or email account will disqualify an entry and the individual who submitted the entry. Use of obscenities, racist, sexist, hateful or other material or depictions that, in Sponsor's judgment, are inappropriate or offensive, will disqualify an entry. Sponsor is not responsible for hardware or software malfunctions, lost or unavailable network connections, server unavailability due to technical, capacity constraints or other issues, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled or delayed electronic or other communications. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, can disqualify, from this Contest and any other contest or Contest conducted by Sponsor, any team and/or member of a team who, in Sponsor's reasonable suspicion, tampers with the entry process or the operation of the web site, or who otherwise violates these rules or any of part of the City of Villains User Agreement. The use of scripts or any automated system to participate in the Contest is strictly prohibited. Sponsor has the right to terminate, suspend or modify this Contest, in whole or in part, at any time and without prior notice, if, in Sponsor's judgment, the Contest is altered, corrupted or cannot be completed as planned due to computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, technical failures, or other conditions beyond Sponsor's control, or at Sponsor’s reasonable discretion. Incomplete Contest rosters and/or entries are invalid, and Teams with incomplete rosters and/or entries will be disqualified.

2. ELIGIBILITY
To enter the Contest each player on your Team, as of May 26, 2006, (a) must be 13 years of age or older, (b) must have Internet access, access to a Personal Computer, and an email account, (c) must be a resident of the United States (excluding the State of Rhode Island, and excluding Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. territories, military installations and commonwealths) or Canada (excluding Quebec) (Canadian residents will be required to answer an additional mathematical question in order to claim their prizes), and (d) have a current City of Villainsïƒ¤ Account (meaning you must have an active account). Employees of each Sponsor, each of their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, representatives, advertising, promotion and publicity agencies and members of the immediate families (defined as parents, children, siblings and spouse, regardless of where they reside) or households of such employees are not eligible. Your Team will be disqualified if anyone set forth in the previous sentence participates in the Contest for your Team. Contest is void where prohibited, restricted or taxed by law. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.

3. DURATION
The Contest begins on Friday, May 26th, at 11:59 PM (Central) and ends at 12:01 PM (central) Tuesday, May 30th.

4. DETERMINATION OF WINNER
Entries will be validated by the City of Villainsïƒ¤ staff to ensure the Strike Force was completed by all characters entered at the time and date written in the submission email. Once the entries are validated the team that completed the Strike Force first will be declared the winner.

It is the Participant’s responsibility to make sure they are eligible for prize by ensuring that the email address associated with their PlayNC master account is current and valid. Participants can check and/or update their PlayNC master account email address by going here and hitting the “Manage” link to update their Contact Information. If a potential winner cannot be reached after 5 calendar days from first notification attempt, or a potential winner is found to be ineligible or does not comply with the Official Rules and Conditions, or is contacted and does not respond by signing and returning to us for our receipt within the time indicated on the documents, an Affidavit of Eligibility (or, in Canada, a Declaration of Compliance with Contest Rules) and Liability/Publicity Release, or refuses or is ineligible to accept a prize, the prize will be forfeited and no alternate winner will be selected nor will the prize be awarded. Participants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and Conditions and any and all decisions of the judges, which are final and binding in all respects. If a winner is under 18 or a minor in his or her state/providence of residence, his or her guardian must also sign the applicable release and documentation.

5. PRIZE
One Prize will be given to each member of the winning Strike Force Team that meets eligibility requirements:

Prizes are not transferable. No substitution of prize for cash or other goods and services is permitted, except Sponsor reserves the right to provide a substitute prize of approximately equal value. Taxes on prizes (including, without limitation, income or withholding taxes), if any, are the sole responsibility of the individual winners. All expenses not specifically included in the prize as described in these Official Rules and conditions are hereby excluded. Winners of the 1 year paid subscription are still bound by the City of Villains User Agreement, Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Failure to comply with those policies can result in account suspension and forfeiture of the prize.

Winners will have their first and last name along with their state of residence posted on the City of Villainsïƒ¤ and City of Heroes® web sites (http://www.cityofheroes.com and http://www.cityof villains.com). We will also list the character names, server(s) where the characters are located if applicable, class, primary and secondary powersets of the player’s in-game characters.

6. GENERAL CONDITIONS
By participating in the Contest you agree (a) to all of the terms and conditions of these Official Rules and Conditions, (b) that Sponsor may post your user or screen name and hometown on Sponsor’s website and in any and all publicity and advertising for Sponsor, this Contest or other promotions by Sponsor without any further attribution, notification or compensation to entrants, except where prohibited by law, (c) to be contacted by Sponsor or its agents by telephone, mail or e-mail, and (d) to sign the documentation set forth in Section 4 above (and have his or her parent or guardian sign such documentation where applicable). Sponsor and its parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion and publicity agencies and all of their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, successors and assigns are not in any way responsible or liable for damages, loss or injury resulting from participation in this Contest or acceptance, loss or use of any prizes awarded in this Contest. You further agree that in any cause of action, Sponsor's liability will be limited to the cost of participating in the Contest, and in no event shall Sponsor be liable for attorney's fees. You waive the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages. Except where prohibited, you agree that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved under the laws of the State of Texas, without respect to any conflict of law issues, and entrant agrees that such shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the U.S. Federal and State Courts of Travis County, Texas, U.S.A. You assume sole liability for injuries, including personal injuries and/or damage to property or prize, caused or claimed to be caused by participating in this Contest or the acceptance, loss, shipment, or use of any prize awarded. Sponsor is not responsible for any failure to contact entrants, whether due to technical or human error. All of Sponsor's decisions regarding the application and interpretation of the Rules are final.
