The Britannia News Network is announcing what looks like the next Ultima Online ingame event. After the Ophidian Invasion, this time brave heroes will be fighting the dangerous and obscure Dark Wisps.

Or some hate, it mainly depends on the tastes. I for sure prefer the 6 years old version that was running until last week to this Camelot Herald clone .
At least there is also a good news: with Client Patch 5.0.8.2 the display issue with Rose in the 3d client has been solved.

The UO Stratics team attended the EA Mythic press event during the which the state of the next coming Ultima Online client was presented. Their interesting report is followed by some good pictures. Let's hope it is not the usual EA vaporware also this time.

From the UO.com FYI webpage: "We have found an uncommon bug with the Gingerbread house that causes it to break/disappear when it is redeeded. It is unlikely we'll get a fix out before the holidays, so please avoid redeeding your Gingerbread house at this time."

So in case you have a Gingerbread house and were planning to redeed it, please wait for an official announcement that the bug has been fixed.

Reynard the Scribe of The Britannia News Network wrote an article announcing what it could look as the end of the Ophidian War event.
"Britannians rejoice!" - Reynard the Scribe writes - "For at last, Justice is done this day!
Ricardo the Thief – escape artist, assassin, and war criminal – has at last received the judgment he so richly deserved. For inciting the Ophidian War, and being held responsible for the deaths of untold thousands, this hated man has finally been condemned to death for his crimes."

We would like to bring your attention to a very important news from the FYI section of the Ultima Online website: "There is an issue with certain items appearing to lock down. *However*, these items will decay quickly, even if locked down. Please do *not* attempt to lock down any older legacy items, "newbie" items, or any other items that have historically been quick-decay items that would not lock down. In Game Support will not be able to replace any items that have decayed while locked down. If you have any uncertainty about a particular item, store it in your bank box or in a secure container until further notice. If you find an item that can be locked down in your home that should not be, please pick the item up *immediately*. The items listed under December 1997 on the following URL are some, but not all of the items affected: http://uo.stratics.com/content/basics/items_holiday.shtml We thank you for your time and attention on this issue."

The Ultima Online 9th Anniversary Collection game box is now available in the stores.
This new box includes the current Ultima Online clients (both 2D and 3D) and all the previous expansions.
This particular edition also includes two new housing sets, personal attendants, and for a limited time the possibility to choose nine in-game gifts from a selection of over 50 items in the Heritage Collection.

At the end of the last week the Ultima Online Client has been updated first to version 5.0.5c and then to version 5.0.6a. The reason for this second patch has not been explained. Patch 5.0.5c introduced the following changes.

During the last week Ultima Online has received a good number of updates, including Publish 43 and the Client Patch 5.0.5b. Check out the full change log.
